Meditation: Value Realization
The intention of this guided meditation is to help you acknowledge your values. Come to a comfortable seated position…Soften your gaze or close your eyes,beginning to bring your attention to the breath. Take three deep breaths, with each, journeying towards who you are big breath in (dramatic inhale), sigh it out….(dramatic exhale)journeying deeper (dramatic inhale), let it go (exhale)just like that….perhaps you begin to connect with your core values, calling to mind one important spiritual value that maybe you’ve somehow neglected or forgotten (pause). Or maybe you are aware of it, but you aren’t LIVING it….(pause) Think about why that value is important to you. noticing how your heart feels about this value….. understanding how deep this value is in your heart, how dear it is…
Imagine that starting from this moment in all the tasks you do, you are living through the lens of this value…..allowing your actions to be guided by this value….(Pause) The communications you have with your loved ones, and friends are in alignment with that value.(Pause) In all the places that you go, you find a way to connect to this value, to revitalize this value in all aspects of life. (Pause).Bring your awareness back to the way your body, heart, and mind are feeling. May be you feel content, maybe serene, maybe satisfied, maybe passionate.
And maybe confused.
Find your feeling. Embrace your feeling.***
And if it is a negative feeling allow yourself to feel it, and know that it will change. (Pause)
Coming back to this very moment, carrying with you an acknowledgement of the importance of this value, setting the intention to revitalize it….. enjoying that mindfulness. (Pause). Know that paying attention to your breathing may help to stay in the moment, to respond mindfully from your values. (Pause) Your breathing can help you tune into a state of relaxed awareness and stillness (Pause)
Take one more deep full breath…
As the meditation ends, move back into connecting with the world, and allow the benefits of this practice to expand into every aspect of your life. Please open your eyes, wiggle your fingers and toes and become aware, relaxed and alert.
